Accessibility Statement

Our commitment to making Campix usable for everyone.

Last updated: October 11, 2026

1. Our commitment

Campix is designed to be usable by parents, counselors, and camp staff with a wide range of abilities. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA across the public registration widget, the parent and counselor portals, and the admin dashboard. We treat accessibility as a continuing obligation rather than a one-time audit.

For organizations operating in Ontario, Campix supports compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) and the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR). For organizations subject to the Accessible Canada Act or analogous provincial laws, we make the same commitments at the platform layer.

2. What we currently support

  • Keyboard navigation across all admin pages, the booking widget, and the parent portal. Interactive controls expose visible focus rings.
  • Screen-reader labels on form fields, buttons, and status regions; live-region alerts on validation errors and async results.
  • Colour contrast targeting WCAG 2.1 AA across light and dark themes.
  • Resizable text up to 200% without loss of content or function.
  • Error identification with both colour and text indicators; never colour alone.
  • Locale support for English and French in the dashboard, public registration, waiver signing and the guardian portal.
  • Reduced motion respected via the prefers-reduced-motion media query for non-essential animations.

3. Known gaps

We aim to be transparent about where we are still improving. Current known gaps:

  • Some legacy admin charts rely on colour to communicate status; tabular fallbacks are available next to the chart in those views.
  • PDF outputs (waiver certificates, payment receipts, rosters) are generated server-side; tagged-PDF accessibility metadata is partial.
  • The self-serve QR check-in kiosk is not yet optimised for screen readers. Staff can check any camper in from the daily roster instead.

If you encounter a barrier that prevents you from completing a task, please report it using the contact information below. Reported barriers are tracked in our internal accessibility backlog and addressed alongside other product work.

4. Alternate formats

On request, we will provide accessible alternatives for any content that you cannot consume in its digital form. This includes large-print, plain-text, and accessible-PDF copies of policy documents and payment receipts. There is no charge for an alternate format.

5. How to report an accessibility barrier

Email support@campix.io with subject line "Accessibility barrier". Please include the URL where you encountered the issue, the assistive technology you were using (if any), and a brief description of what you expected versus what happened. We will acknowledge within 5 business days and aim to provide a substantive response within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate to the relevant accessibility regulator: for Ontario, the Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility, and for federal matters, the Accessibility Commissioner of Canada.
